One rate. One exception.
You should know what this costs before you book, not after. Every session is $225, whichever of us you work with. The one exception is premarital, which runs as a defined six-session program.
- Same rate whether you work with Brian or Emily
- No minimum commitment — book one session or twenty
- Both partners included — this is a couples rate, not per person
- Free 15-minute consultation before you commit to anything
- Charged after each session — never billed in advance
- Cancel free with more than 24 hours' notice
- 100% online through a secure video platform
The rate is identical across both practitioners because the work is identical. Brian and Emily deliver the same method, developed in-house, using the same structure and the same materials. What differs is scope of practice, not quality — and that is a licensing distinction rather than a pricing one.
One method. Two practitioners.
Both trained in the FERNS Method. Both working from the same framework. The difference is what each is licensed to do — and where.
Brian provides licensed couples therapy. Because therapy is a clinical service, it can address mental health concerns, trauma, and crisis — and it is regulated by state licensing boards.
That regulation is why his work has a geographic limit: a licensed clinician may only treat clients physically located in a state where they hold licensure.
Available to couples located in Delaware and Massachusetts.$225 per session.
Emily delivers the same FERNS Method as relationship coaching. Coaching is goal-oriented and growth-focused. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and it is not a substitute for therapy.
Because coaching is not a licensed clinical service, it carries no state restriction — which means Emily can work with couples anywhere in the country.
Available to couples nationwide.$225 per session.
Not sure which one fits your situation? That is exactly what the free consultation is for. We will tell you honestly — including if the answer is neither of us.
Premarital runs as a program.
Premarital work has something the rest of our work does not: a defined scope and a natural end point. So it is priced as a program rather than by the hour.
- Session 1 — where you are, and what you are each bringing in
- Sessions 2–6 — one for each component of the FERNS Method
- Documentation for your officiant on request
- Or book premarital sessions individually at $225 each
We are private pay only.
We do not bill insurance and are not in network with any plan. We would rather tell you that here than have you find out after your first session.
This is a deliberate choice, and it is worth understanding why. To bill insurance for couples work, a clinician must assign one partner a mental health diagnosis and designate them the identified patient. That diagnosis becomes part of a permanent medical record. It also gives the insurer authority over how many sessions you get and what counts as sufficient progress.
Relationship difficulty is not a mental illness, and we are not willing to code it as one to get it covered. Private pay means no diagnosis is required, no third party reviews your file, and the two of you decide how long the work continues.
Insurance requires someone to be the patient. In couples work, the relationship is the client — not either one of you.
We also do not provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and the reason is the same one. A superbill has to carry a diagnosis code to be reimbursable. We do not diagnose, so there is nothing to put on it.
Plan ahead for the full rate. If cost is the obstacle, say so during the consultation — we would rather help you find the right resource than have you start something you cannot sustain.
Everything else you might be wondering.
Start with fifteen minutes.
Before you spend anything, spend a quarter of an hour telling us what is going on. If we can help, we will tell you how. If we cannot, we will tell you that too.
